For a "registration expiration." Except, it's not expired.

As I was getting off my exit to come to work, I was going a bit fast (35 in a 25, but that's pretty routine for this exit) and this officer merges from another road on the left already doing about 40 and passes me, then gets in front of me. We go up a ways and he turns onto an access road and whips around. I go by and he gets right back behind me and throws the cherries on. I'm trying to figure out what I did. Maybe speeding? But he passed me even as I was decelerating off the highway? Maybe he's just a dick... who knows?

So I pull over, turn the stereo off, hit the auto-window-roll-down button and put my hands up on the wheel. As he walks up to the car I hear him go "Umm...uhhh... Oh, hey, sorry, there's no problem. I thought your registration was expired because blue stickers were the color for 2014. But I see that's for 2016 too. Damn. Well, sorry again, here, let me stop traffic for you so you can be on your way. Have a nice day."

So to all my fellow VA drivers out there, be aware that if you have a 2016 Inspection sticker, its the same color as 2014 and as we're coming into the New Year, this could happen to you.

Funny enough, you'll never get pulled over for an inspection rejection sticker no matter how out of date because it's too hard to see the little hole punches from the cruiser. Don't park in metered parking though or the maids will tag you.
